LEGO Minecraft The Nether 21106

Lego Minecraft - a great combination
This "micro" set is a great combination of Lego and Minecraft. It's different from regular Lego sets, it has mostly simple 1x1s and is a much smaller set once assembled (the box is only 3" in length, width, and depth). We bought the Nether and the Village - both sets are great. You can customize modules once constructed, this gives great flexibility with the set. The sets are simple yet don't feel as repetitive as some other Lego sets. Once constructed, the modules are remarkably stable given the smaller frame.

It would be great to have the entire collection, but at $35 a set, it adds up to be quite expensive. Price and availability of these sets seems to be varying quite a bit. I did a fair amount if research and it seems $33-$37 is the range in which these sets typically sell. If they are out of stock, they come back in stock pretty quick, so it might be better to wait for stock rather than pay higher prices (I have seen these selling for as much as $60!).

Travel through an Obsidian Portal and find yourself in The Nether! This is a place like no other, with Netherrack, gravel and bedrock. Watch out for flowing lava, flying Ghasts and the patrolling Zombie Pigmen! Now you can re-build it all with LEGO bricks, complete with a portal. But remember... enter at your own risk! Includes 3 buildable Micromob figures: 2 Ghasts and a Zombie Pigman. Limit 2 per customer

  • Includes 3 buildable Micromob figures: 2 Ghasts and a Zombie Pigman
  • Recreate a Minecraft world as a micro-scale LEGO model and explore the adventure of The Nether, the newest biome in the LEGO Minecraft world
  • Add the Obsidian Nether Portal and travel to different biomes
  • Combine this biome with others in the same series to build your own LEGO Minecraft world
  • Measures 3" (10cm) deep, (10cm) 3" long and 3" (10cm) high

Nice Addition to the Lego MineCraft Series
These are nice little Lego sets for any MineCraft enthusiast. Be warned that these are micro Lego sets, meaning all the blocks are the tiniest that Lego makes. These almost lose a star because of how small they are versus their price, but it is what it is. My son really likes them. My son did say that he wishes the set came with less "Ghasts" and more "Zombie Pig Men". I'm sure your little MineCrafter would know what that means.
MINECRAFT RULZ if you're 10
Bought this and the LEGO minecraft village for my daughter's 10th birthday. 10 year olds all seem to love mincraft, so I think it was a good decision. Shipping was quick and the product is as described.

An Actual Review of the Actual Set
I finally got a copy of this set so I can write an actual review. I find many reviews on Amazon are negative because of item availability and aftermarket pricing. So here is an actual review of the set, not the market. Please see the customer image gallery for my build uploads.

Design: This set uses a modular design. If you follow the instructions, you get eight distinct modules, four above ground and four below ground. You can arrange these in dozens of different ways to create tiny cave networks and a multi-layered effect. The caves have several different kinds of hidden resources that you can only see when you take the top layer off. The overall effect of the design is a pretty good representation of the Minecraft world.

Build Quality: Pretty solid, I'm happy to say. This set does not sacrifice build quality for detail (which many LEGO sets unfortunately do). You may find that the tree tops pop off when you're rearranging the different modules, but everything...

Minecraft is an online sandbox a virtual world where the essential play is creative building with virtual cubes and its about learning skills and building craft tools and mining for gold and diamonds. The games is inspired by Infiniminer, Dwarf Fortress and Dungeon Keeper, created by Markus Persson, the founder of Mojang AB. The game involves players creating and destroying various types of blocks in a three dimensional environment. The player takes an avatar that can destroy or create blocks, forming fantastic structures, creations and artwork across the various multiplayer servers in multiple game modes. At last, Minecraft and LEGO meet
At first I thought this set was a Jinx.com exclusive, but I saw it for sale here on amazon earlier this week and had to snatch it up immediately. If you are reading this review, you surely know what Minecraft is and what a worldwide phenomenon it has become, starting as an obscure Java game on the PC that quickly grew in popularity due to its engrossing retro visual style, building mode, fun multiplayer and the human race's infatuation with things-that-go-bump-in-the-night. Now Minecraft has come full-circle with this great LEGO set that couples everybody's favorite plastic bricks with Minecraft's voxel visuals, themselves likely LEGO inspired from the beginning.

First thing you will notice upon getting this set is just how Tiny the box is. Yes, this is a Micro set, so be prepared for just what you are getting. It's only slightly bigger than a typical square box of Kleenex. Inside you'll find 480 LEGO pieces, mostly of the very small variety so the price-per-brick ratio may...
Minecraft and LEGO - a Perfect Match!
Who knew that two things could come together so perfectly!

My 13 year old son has loved building with LEGOs since, well, forever. He became infatuated with Minecraft over a year ago. When he heard that Minecraft and LEGO worked to create a Minecraft specific set, he was thrilled.

The set is neat. You build four blocks which can then be combined by using connectors. Really, you can build whatever you want. It has hidden chambers, two micro mini-figs (Steve and Creeper). It is mostly the smallest of LEGO pieces and does come with some extras (not a lot though).

It is more expensive per piece (and size of piece) than a lot of LEGO sets but sometimes, it's okay to spend a little more for the things that make our kids really happy. And this does just that.

There are now two other sets: LEGO Minecraft The Village 21105 and...

Well played, Lego. Well Played.
People are complaining the date set for the past is wrong. The brick says 1958. In the movie they travel to 1955. This is not a mistake, but a inside joke for Lego. 1958 was the year the first Lego brick was produced.

Great Set, but DON'T Pay $50 Plus Shipping
This is a really cool set, especially for we children of the late 70s/early 80s. However, it is only $35.00 new and Prime eligible when it is in stock. So unless you HAVE to have it today from Amazon, just hang on until they get more back in stock...no need to pay $50 plus shipping for this one.
Lego Figures will only fit inside the car with there hair removed!
Let me start by saying this is a pretty cool lego set! My only problem with this set is the lego figures do not fit inside the DeLorean unless you remove there hair. Other then that it seams to be a pretty good set.
