Very cute, but not as "Lego" as some
My 8yo daughter loves building Legos (as do her two brothers) and loved the look of these sets when she saw them come out and bought this one with her own money. It's cute, it's girly, but it's not as "Lego" as a "traditional" set. Of the 222 pieces, SO MANY of them are "accessories." Utensils, foods, etc. Not very much for building and more for playing very teeny pretend play. But you're paying Lego prices for that. It competes well with things like littlest pet shop, ponies, etc, but not so well with other lego sets.
My daughter also has some other lego favorites she thinks are cool - the lighthouse with the light-up brick, the camping trailer with car to pull it (we own a camper), the 3-in-1 fishing cabin, etc. For actual building, you get more bang for your buck with the "traditional" sets. They are also more challenging and time-consuming which she likes. It hardly took any time at all to put this set together and now it just sits on her shelf.

Exceeds all Expectations!!
My daughter just got this set two days ago for her 7th Birthday, and we had a blast putting it together. Now she's serving cakes, milkshakes and hamburgers to all her lego friends. The set is very well designed, with details that add so much character to it. My daughter and I both LOVE the new design, and LOVE the new design of minifigures as well..they're so cute!
Got this as a gift...and I'm 37! Love it.
As a mom of two boys we have more LEGOs in this house than I can count, and I've nearly stepped on more than my feet can take. When I saw these new "Friends" sets at the LEGO store I was immediately fascinated. Girl LEGOS! I mean really, who cares, boys can play with them and girls can play with the other LEGOs...but still. My inner child kicked in and I was in love. Apparently it was totally obvious, so my husband and boys got me this set as a gift.

It's just adorable, and I love the accessories. A cute little mixer, bowls...the pastries are darling! It was relaxing, if not cathartic, to put it together while the boys were napping. Then when they woke up LEGO Batman and Catwoman had a chase scene through the Cafe while Indiana Jones sat down for a cupcake and a beverage. Love it. ;-)

This set arrived on the market mid-2013. MSRP is 29.99. It is often wise to cross check with Lego on price and availability.

This is a great set, partly because tree houses have natural playability for kids, partly because it is from the Creator line (see below). I think this is the best Creator set for 2013.

Lego released a Friends theme tree house #3065 in 2012 that was a great set and, I believe, one that sold well. It was also a great price at 19.99. My daughter opened it and built it right away. She loves it! Even tough I wanted her to get the girl tree house.
Big Hit!
My 7 year old son loves it and has been working on it independently and doing great! I would give it five starts if there were not sooo many itty bitty tiny teeny pieces. But I guess that's what makes the details so good. I love that there are three somewhat different projects to make. I hope he doesn't loose all the tiny pieces before he gets to make them all.

I am decorating my home with Legos!
The police headquarter/station was purchased for our Grandson for Christmas. He loves it! It stays on our coffee table 24/7 and he gets upset if I move it to clean. He has added two large helicopters and one small one, a plane, prisoner transport, one motorcycle and two K-9 dogs to this set. The set is fine for a six year old if they love to put things together and it teaches them to follow directions. I purchased a Rubbermaid tote to store all the instruction booklets just in case something gets broken or needs repair. He loves moving all the officers around and pretending what the bad guys are trying to do. I would reccommend going to Lego.com and letting your little ones see the videos they have there. They are free and my Grandson loves them and it encourages creative play for him. Lego also has a free magazine you can subscribe to, and he loves getting mail. So, it is the bomb...but my family roomm decor is ..a little different than I had planned. That's OK, I am...

The Lego Police Station has 783 pieces. I like it because I like how the jail cell doors open and close. It was pretty hard to build even though it says ages 6-12. If you buy this set, I think you will like it. It is the best set in Lego City. It has lots of great minifigures, including two robbers, four policemen, and a dog. It is a good set to play with even after you've finished building.

The Ninja Tank
This set is really good and possibly one of the best of its theme. It has six mini figs, all four ZX ninja (with their golden weapons), Spitta, a Venomari soldier, and Pythor P. Chumsworth, who is exclusive to this set. They are all good figures, with the ninja having two sword-sheaths attached to their backs. Pythor can be placed in some funny positions, such as in front of a catapult with another Serpentine considering whether he should open fire or not. (I prefer Fangdam, but that's just me.) It also comes with the Fangpyre Fang Blade. Now, onto the good stuff: the actual set.

The Tank:

The tank is quite cool when the jet is attachted, but when the jet takes off, the back looks rather bare. The cockpit for the tank seems to like to break when the jet lifts off, which is why I gave it four stars on durability. Apart from those minor issues, though, the tank proved very cool. A Kid's Review
My 11 year old son couldn't wait for this to be delivered and he wasn't disappointed. There are 6 mini-figures with the 4 original ninjas having their golden weapons (this impressed my son..as did the fact that it came with Pythor, Spitta and a fang blade). According to my son, the instructions were easy to follow, "you just have to pay attention". He wishes that the cockpit could fit 4 figures, instead of 2, but he still loves the set. He says "this is a set with high playability and durability and you should definitely get it".

I got this for my 12 year old son for completing a gear tech class through 4h, he is taking over the review now.
This set was truly the best lego ste yet to date. Not only is the tank really cool but also the minifigures are to. The tank only fits 2 minifigures, wich I wish would fit all 4 though. The best part about it is the second cockpit transforms into a jet. The set is also includes an exclusive pythor minifigure. The next set I will get is the epic dragon battle so look out for my review.

Great daddy-daughter project
(Now, up front, this review discusses my experience with this set and an older-three and younger-five girl. I wouldn't recommend this set for all three-year-olds, and not for any without major assistance. If you have a kid who puts things in their mouths, it's probably not the best, due to the number of small parts.) I love Legos. As a grownup, I don't get many opportunities to work them, but my nephew (who is 10) and I have worked Legos together on Thanksgiving since he was 3. It is a tradition both of us love. This year, my 3-year-old daughter wanted in on the action, and helped us sort pieces for a huge Harry Potter set. I was thrilled when I saw that the new Lego Friends sets were coming out, as she is both math/science inclined and a girly girl, and I knew this would be a good intro to Legos for her. We received the veterinarian set as a gift. My wife, my daughter, her five-year-old cousin and I have worked on this set together over the last two nights, and it keeps the girls'...

Finally!
My 5-year old daughter and I were thrilled to hear that Lego was finally introducing a new line for her age group and were counting down the days until the launch. We went to our local Lego store today, when the doors opened, to buy our first Lego Friends set. My daughter chose the Heartlake Vet set, came home, and immediately started to build. Over the course of 4 hours, she constructed most of it herself and then enjoyed playing with it. The directions were easy for her to follow, and the process was manageable because the Legos were divided among 4 sequential bags. She seems extremely eager to play "vet" with the 2 figures and 3 animals. There are lots of fun accessories such as an x-ray machine, scale, computer, phone, pet bed, treats for the animals, exam table and instruments, and cart to transport animals. The set even includes a mail slot with a piece of mail that drops into a mailbox on the inside. So much fun!

My only complaint is that the set is very...
Perfect!
Lego hit the nail on the head with the new Friends line. Eight year old daughter is thrilled to finally have Legos that fit her interests (veterinary clinic) and sense of style (colors, flowers, butterflies, etc.). She is happily building the set now and I'm sure will have a great time playing with this. I hope Lego will eventually develop some additional career sets in addition to the ones available, but this is a great start!

Wondrous lego set
WOW! I had no clue lego makes these moving structures with steps that move, and platforms and so much more in one set. The lion itself is a marvel. Any child who is into Chima will spend hours and hours playing with this set. Just building it is an education in science, technology, engineering, math and patience. I am still wowed every time I see the set in action and I bought it for both grandsons, 6 and 7 so I see it double time.
Just what he wanted
These are Legos, they come just like the ones you see in the store. They came promptly & well packaged for the trip. The bonus was both sets I ordered were cheaper then in the store. Over $25 spent means free shipping. I am thrilled to get these early so that I KNOW I have them for Christmas. Our grandson will be thrilled!
