I love Lego products and this is also the same high quality. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is rather difficult to find the letters you are looking for and I was hoping for more letters. I think if they would have only Upper Case letters, it would have been a little bit better for games like Scrabble or Bananagrams... for kids.

missing parts
I purchased the first boat and there was many missing parts in the box. I returned the boat and had them ship me another one to replace it. The second one had missing parts also. I tried to contact the manufacturer and they would not respond. The company is no good. This will be my last purchase with the Cobi Company. Stick with Lego, they seem to be the best in this industry.

This is a challenging set with over 2200 pieces. I find the directions more difficult to follow compared to LEGO, but once you get used to them, they are manageable. I am currently finishing the LEGO Pet Shop 10218 that has about 200 FEWER pieces. It is cool, but takes up half the coffee table and will take up a lot of space to display or store. Himeji Castle is 11 X 8 X 7 inches when finished. Kids who like to play with their creations after they are built, probably won't like these as much. They are a bit more fragile and don't have minifigures. Hint to the Nanoblock creators. Make tiny minifigures!

Lots of pieces in this nano set.
My son just loves the Lego technic kits, but since he already has constructed most of them I was looking for an alternative. The Nanoblock pieces are a lot smaller than Lego, but the shear number in this set kept him busy for days and days. His smaller fingers had no problem picking up and connecting the pieces. I'm glad I found a product that he liked to construct and that kept him busy for quite awhile.
Great look, tiny blocks...but not as fun as Lego
I love the way this looks, the tiny blocks give you the ability to create great details that you can't get with Lego. However, these definitely are NOT Lego-quality. The 1 by (X+1) blocks don't lock into the block below them, so they can slide in the direction with only one unit measurement...giving your creation a slightly jagged edge if you're not super obsessive like me. There are no moving pieces at all (doors, windows, secret entrances, removable walls/partitions) like you might find with Lego.

Basically, this boils down to a very intricate model, but there is no joy of playing with it when you're finished, like you'd get with a Lego set of similar difficulty and piece quantity.

Finally, keep in mind that these are nano sized! It can be very difficult to remove misplaced blocks without tweezers or needle-nosed pliers. The 1x1 pieces are so small that you must be patient with them!

Great in concept but not in reality
We were really excited to give this present to our 3 year old son but unfortunately the plastic seems thinner than normal duplo legos and does not stay connected to other pieces very well. Either the pieces are not completely level or the thinness of the plastic affects the structural integrity of the playhouse. Not sure I would recommend this to others.

I was browsing for Lego's to get my kids for Xmas and came across this house, which I loved because it had stuff for both genders. When we received it, it came in a plastic tote for storing and we just Love it! Its super cute and easy to put together. I also love the little toilet, bath tub, stock pot etc. Definitely recommend!

This is a great addition to Playmobil's dragon sets. You get two green dragon knights, a green dragon, the fortress with a hidden cave that contains the dragon's magical blue fire and a wizard. Besides some assembly, you'll need to apply stickers. This play set has been a constant favorite for several weeks.

My sons are fascinated by the Green Dragon's Tower. The hidden cave with its dragon shaped cover that lifts up to reveal the magical blue fire that lights up at the press of a button is a big hit (it is ready to use straight out of the box and battery replacement is possible). Bought this for my 5 year old son. He loves playing with the "dudes" He likes the different swords and the dragon that the knights can ride. He loves the door. Building it was easy, even for me. (I am not great with this kind of stuff.) I love that he plays with it by himself and incorporates his other toys with it too. The only drawback, as with all playmobil stuff is that it can come apart with rough play or if tripped over. With this set, the weakness is the dragon door mouth. But it's an easy fix by Mom and I still think it was worth it.

Excellent! But...
After looking at all kinds of reviews about the other castles Playmobil makes, I still decided to purchase the castle. Many folks complained about the caslte coming apart. This Castle does not come apart. The only piece that has come off is the drawbridge. But after my 4 year old saw he needed to be gentle with that piece it has not been a problem. Took about a week for him to figure that out. The second thing that keeps coming apart is the red dragon, the wings don't like to stay on. Is this a deterent for my child, No. He loves this castle and plays with it for hours. It has stretched his imagination and encouraged playing alone. The crossbow shoots a great distance, which he is always shooting one of the characters or the dragon. He also likes to have the trap door triggered for the people to fall into, and the spike to drop on the dragon.

My son loves the castle. He is four years old. My husband and I put this together on Christmas Eve in about a 1.5 hours. His face on Christmas morning was priceless. He plays with this item for about an hour a day and we have not noticed any of the pieces falling off. We are very pleased with the item and all Playmobil items we have purchased as we also purchased the Dungeon. Great for imaginative play and all the little pieces are good for developing fine motor skills. We are very pleased.
Kids Love it
My kids are hooked on this dragon castle. We have another playmobil unicorn castle and between the two they have so much fun.. The only downfall is that we have to keep putting it up out of the reach of my 1 year old. Lot's of small parts are also hard to keep track of but overall we love it...

Excellent Blocks!
I have spent many hundreds of dollars on these blocks and think they are great. First saw them at a local children's museum and have since purchased several of the 48, 96, and one 192 block sets. The only difference between the sets (other than the number of blocks) is that the larger sets come with more, and larger, plastic windows.

My son (turned two recently) has been walking along, climbing up, and crawling through my creations since he could move. He can now usually pull the blocks apart himself but can't always push them all the way together.

These are durable enough to hold the weight of a 160lb adult and I've even made bridges I could stand on by sliding several sections of PVC pipe through the holes.

I highly recommend the blocks but be warned - no matter how many you have you'll likely think of even more amazing structures you could build if you had just a few more blocks!

We have had these blocks for several weeks.now. My 3 year old plays with them every day. She has been building castles, robots, sand castles, etc. The blocks are very durable. They are light weight (hollow inside), made just like a lego or duplo block, just larger. I definitely recommend them. If you're on the fence about making the purchase, do it, you won't be disappointed. Oh, they also came with several different sized 'windows', and some of the blocks have grooves along the side for their placement.
Super fun. Buy enough to build something BIG!
These are great blocks - durable and sturdy. My only regret is buying only the 96 pc set. The true fun of building with these is that you can build really big structures and to do so and keep the structure sturdy you need a LOT of blocks. We found that the 96 pc set is probably the minimum that I would recommend. With it we can build walls, small pieces of furniture, free-standing animals, and half-forts. Doubling the set to around 200 pc would be ideal and would allow us to build forts and more complex shapes.

My son got this as a gift for his 3rd birthday. It is completely fun and special. My kids love playing Christmas with the few santa pieces they got last year from a playmobil advent calendar and this santa's home was the perfect addition to that. I wish there was a little more furniture but it does come with a lot for the price and there is a santa's workshop set available to add and also the big sleigh with reindeer that you can buy. We burn wood and have a wood stove so the wood pile and woodstove in the set are very relevant to my kids. They love chopping and bringing wood in for the stove. Is it wrong that I loved this so much I didn't want to share with the kids? Seriously, Playmobil didn't disappoint me on this set - Santa's Home. If your used to the organized instructions of Lego sets, this is not for you. The instructions are difficult and you need to have all the packages open at once. There was no rhyme or reason to the different bags of pieces. It took my husband many hours beyond the patience of my six year old. And with sore fingers, he realized he got a piece wrong somewhere and needed to undo most if it. But my done loves it and is a huge fan of Skylanders.

Fun but...definitely spoiled by Legos
This was the first Megablocks set I have bought and my son begged me to get it. Found it on clearance locally and picked it up for $75. The instruction manuals weren't that hard to follow - but I have definitely been spoiled by Legos and the ability to sort their pieces so things are easy to find but bag number of the pieces you need for that part. I had to open every bag at first and have a big enough place to spread them out and reach around the towers. It was just hard and frustrating. We also had a hard time getting some of the pieces together, specifically the tower walls and the purple tops. Our portal wouldn't stay on very good either and he really didn't care about launching the sheep at it so we used some of the extra pieces and put on the back to keep it up. It's together now and looks awesome and my son loves it. The details are really neat and he loves the Kaos water fountain and picture on the wall. I would give it 4 stars if it weren't for the fact it took me...
Great kit
I will never understand why people complain about the Megabloks instructions being difficult - they're every bit as simple for me and my 9 year old as lego instructions are. The pictures for assembly actually color the dots on the bricks to show exactly where a part snaps onto it from above. It really doesn't get any easier unless you buy it prebuilt.

The only problem we had with this one was the towers - the crenelations hang out, so you're putting pieces on that stick out over the edge of the piece under them, then adding more pieces on top of them - for me it was easy, but my 9 year old wasn't quite supporting underneath well enough and popped some pieces off. Not a big deal but he ended up just asking me to put those parts on.

Great kit though - large, each section is built separately, left tower, center piece, right tower. So it lets you get one major part done at a time.

The only piece problem we had was the cannon - the spring didn't work so...

A cute set especially for kids just starting out with lego sets
This set is very easy to put together. It is much easier than other lego city sets meant for 5-12 so it is a good introduction for kids who are transitioning from the larger legos to these types of sets. I got this set for my 9 year old because he wanted a city set to go with his ambulance, police dog unit and other lego city vehicles and people. This gives the child an entire town to play with for a lot less money than the lego city corner and city house combo. The stores are really just fronts with no details or interiors so it allows for easy building but less interior play. It does not come with all of the instructions which is very annoying and makes no sense. Confused
We were so excited about this set because our Lego city really needs some buildings. But when we opened up the set we were confused. There are not enough instructions to build all the buildings and the baggies are not split up by each building. One of the things I always love about Legos is the organization. This set is going to take some extra thought and creativity. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but I see some hard work ahead.
Great Building For My Son
We had to download some of the instructions from the Lego Education site, but once we did, my five-year-old had a great time putting the buildings together. These are just the right level of difficulty for him. Not too hard or detailed like some of the other Lego sets, but a better challenge than his Duplos.

Really poor quality of material
I bought the full sheet set to use the material to make curtains for our son's room. His bed is actually a queen and these sheets are not available in a larger size. The quality of the sheets is probably the worst I've ever purchased and yet the price is high enough. BUT there are so few Lego Ninjago bedroom decorating products that I'm keeping them with big hopes the cheap material will hold up as curtains. I'll have to buy a plain white sheet just to line this material so the curtains don't look ridiculously thin.

I would not recommend anyone to buy these for their children since the quality is not there and in addition the fumes from the paint are just too strong. In the other hand the bed comforter is quite nice and my son loved it!

The sheet set purchased is very rough. My son refuses to sleep on the sheets. I've washed them several times with fabric softener but nothing helps.

Sons love it!!
I hesitated ordering it based upon the price but with the other great reviews and knowing how much my boys love Legos and tools, I took a chance. My sons, age 5 and 6, just love this set!! They just played with it for the first time today for the 5 y/o’s birthday. The pieces are so sturdy, and since they screw together they can actually play with them without them falling apart (as opposed to traditional Lego bricks) There are only specific instructions for 2 machines, but it is fun to watch the kids stare at the pictures to figure out how the other machines were made and figure it out for themselves.

Both boys declared at bedtime tonight that this would be the first thing they played with tomorrow.

Very pricey, but I think they will play with this for a long time and this will be definitely be a keeper for the grandchildren some day. The quality is phenomenal.

Great potential for creativity and really well made. Great Lego customer service, too.
Our son loves figuring out how to assemble the vehicles and then playing with them. There are many different ways to build the vehicles so it promotes creative thought. But essentially you can't go wrong with boys and construction toys. Another big plus is the quality as these pieces seem significantly better than the typical Lego sets, so they should be durable over the years. Finally, excellent Amazon & Lego customer support. The product shipped with one incorrect part a fire hose instead of a construction hook for the crane. Amazon shipped out a second set within 24 hours and have us an RA for our set. However, the replacement set also ha the same incorrect part, so then we contacted Lego and they shipped the exact part free of all charges within a week!

The Snap Circuits toys are wonderful. My son (just turned 6 last week) received the Snap Circuits Pro for Christmas. I bought this table for my 2 yr old grandson hoping his large duplo blocks I gave him for Christmas would work well. Unfortunately they are very hard to push down. However, I have quite a few large lego sets his father had as a child and they fit wonderfully! The table works well for little ones up to about 5. My gf brought her 5 yr old daughter over and she had a hard time fitting her legs under the table. I would still buy this table all over again because he loves calling out the colors and it is great for him to sit and eat by himself. It came well packaged and was a snap to put together. Chairs do tip pretty easy but no rough edges to hurt little bodies and fingers. Great value for the price!

what a great table for the price,
I purchased this table for my 2 year old grandson, We have been having so much fun building on it with Duplo Lego's for now and when he gets older we will graduate to the regular Lego's. Sometimes it is a bit hard to fit the big pieces on the table but with patience they do connect. It is made well and bright and cheery!!! I would highly recommend it for a toddler!
Too thin all around
The concept of this table is okay, but the material itself is too thin. I expected something more solid, but the chairs in particular are very flimsy. Perhaps that is why they are hidden behind the table in the photo. We do use it for meals and playtime with our kids, but I was disappointed to see that it wasn't as solid as I was hoping. If you have children that play rough, or are clumsy you may want another option because they will break the legs on this or warp the removable top. I would have returned it myself but after my husband assembled it, it was too much of a hassle to pack it back up.

Excellent teaching kit
I bought this kit to support a home-based learning program for a fifth-grade boy (11 years old). It is EXACTLY what I was looking for - there's the fun of building the labs, then the fun of trying the experiments. The included documentation is very good, as it describes not only how to build the equipment, but also how to conduct the experiments, and it also discusses the related scientific concepts. I'd suggest that parents/educators read through everything ahead of time if they plan to use this kit as a teaching tool, to become familiar with the flow of the material. You can easily jump around between topics within the book, as the labs generally do not depend on each other (with the exception of force scale).
The suggested age range for this kit is 8 - 12, but I'd be inclined to increase the upper limit, as some of the concepts are clearly in middle school territory.

My son is always tinkering, building contraptions, etc. We could tell that the Legos were getting "old" for him, so we bought this. He really likes it, and is always building stuff like cranes, windmills, etc. Everything in the set is sturdy, with quality similar to Lego, but with more gears and pulleys.
Not for the classroom enviornment
To start, I'm an assistant teacher who has been given the task of implementing a small "club" where kids can use their hands and learn about basic physics concepts, mechanics, and other knowledge they might acquire through the experience. Right, I'm not a certified teacher, but do have a minor background in mechanics as an amateur bicycle mechanic. I've also taken college level physics classes.

This set is nice. The pieces are durable and easily identifiable. But this kit is lacking in so many other areas.

First, the instructions are poor. There are pictures, but no explanation how to get from one step to another. Sometimes, the manual just shows you the completed mechanism, and you're expected to fabricate it on your own. I bought a few of these kits in order to have about 3 kids per kit in a group of about 15 kids. I ended up running around the room having to explain the same thing or show how to build the structure over and over again...

I bought two of these for my boys' Lego collections. They are perfect. I no longer step on bits of Lego all over the floor, and I don't have fights with them about picking up their Lego. They can spread it out as much as they like even right before bed time. It literally takes seconds to clean up. You just pull the draw string and slide the fastener down to secure it. Voila! An architect playing with Legos...
I've built close to a dozen of the Lego Architecture series, and while I'm a fan of them in general I was highly skeptical about this one since Sydney Opera House is the antithesis of modular block construction. But having built it, that is what I admire most about this set now. A few pages into the meat of the build I was saying out loud 'I don't see where this is going' and to some extent I felt that way throughout. But as I followed the directions it magically took form. The sum is definitely greater than the parts, and that gave me a sense of wonder.

There are many things to enjoy about Legos as an adult: 3 dimensional problem solving, a sense of accomplishment at completing the build, a moment to forget the world and just play... This kit had an extra 'wow' factor at the very end when it transformed into the Sydney Opera House.

I'm a convert, this is possibly my favorite of the architecture series. Kudos to the Lego designer on this one, I didn't...

Looks nice from far, but little overpriced
Bought this for myself as I'm a big fan of Sydney Opera House. To be honest, this is my first LEGO Architecture set and I'm a little bit disappointed. The set itself is very small and the build is straightforward. I actually finished it within a day, without any issues.

If you plan to put this as a display set, it does look nice from far. But upon closer inspection, you can see that the pieces are quite 'rough' and there are certain angles which the set will look nice, and certain angles which it looks quite ugly.

The booklet (manual) that comes with it does provide a fair amount of background on the Sydney Opera House. But the quality of the manual is poor, as the pages started to come off after a while.

Overall, if you wish to display it (remember it only looks good at certain angles), don't mind its small size and slightly hefty price, I do suggest you to consider this. Otherwise, I suggest you to consider other LEGO sets.

Why is it all these lego architect models are so small? they take 30 minutes tops for a child to assemble and in the end they arent too impressive. im losing faith lego.

Great Set
My 11 year nephwe old has out grown most toys, but this set is an exception. Jon loves building new inventions, refining his designs and building again. This has kept him occupied for hours. He likes the percision fit of the pieces and has built some cool cars. The wheels roll very smoothly, better than any other wheel building toy he's had. A must get for young kids
My husband bought this when he found it on sale. I wasn't sure about why we needed this set as well but when the kids opened it up and started playing with it, I saw the value. First, there are an amazing amount of pieces. The directions aren't as spelled out as some of the models but they were still able to build it (they are 4 and 5). They are having a great time building all the different parts to this harbor while they are using their imagination. There are a lot of minifigures and pieces that would be hard to get otherwise. Great set!

Neat Pieces, Frustrating build
I'd read some other reviews so I knew not to expect full instructions, but I also expected thanks to the multitudes of Lego fanatics on the Internet that there would be instructions somewhere out there. Haven't found them for this set quite yet. The kit itself has many items that are fun to build and the fact it comes with more sturdy instructions (for the ones included) and a great case make it a good value. My kids never seemed "into" nautical concepts before, but that apparently that was just because they'd never been exposed to them before. Boats turned out to be great fun even if they couldn't go into the bath tub!

Excellent value for money
I got this set for my sons 3rd birthday. It is an excellent set with a good amount of animals in it. He has already had hours and hours of play from it. There are endless ways this toy can be played with. As usual it's to the high standard that all duplo toys are. The box it came in was an added bonus as you can quickly tidy up the 98 pieces to store it away.
I would highly recommend this set. It would also be good for an older child to play with.

Looks - I like the way it looks, very neat. A lot more attractive then the all-plastic drawer units from Sterilite.

Waste of Money
This was a purchasing mistake. I am now using 2 of the drawers as Kitty-litter boxes. The frame is sturdy and well made, the drawers are strong and attractive. However, the damn drawers don't stay in the slides and are always crooked and falling down into the drawer below it. I have been careful not to overload the drawers and make them too heavy, but it still happens. They are just a real pain in the butt!!!! Don't waste your money unless you need 20 colorful kitty-litter boxes . . . then it's a great buy!
Great Concept, Weak Design
I purchased this to use in my classroom for math manipulatives. It has worked fine, but the drawers are difficult for my 4th graders to use. We remove the drawers during math time. When kids go to put them back in the tracks, they have some difficulty placing them in. It is also a bit unstable. I have had to tighten the bolts a few times in the two weeks that I had it before summer vacation. I hope it lasts longer than a few years because the cost was a bit high. It would be great for a home storage solution, rather than at a school where it gets high usage.

The advantage of K'NEX over legos, is that when you want to build larger structures. Because you're mostly building the frames and not the whole structure, it's much easier and simple with K'NEX.

Imagine building a Ferris Wheel with Lego. That would probably be pretty hard even for adults. K'NEX makes it easier.

Now, regarding this specific Mario set, I find it suitable mostly for fans. A lot of the parts wouldn't be suitable to combine with other sets.

My kids and I spent a few hours building this, which I think it was the best part of the set. After we built it, they spent a few minutes playing with the Mario characters, but it got old soon.

Great Display Piece for Mario Fans.... Limited as far as being a toy...
This is more of a display / collection piece for Mario fans. It's fun to build but not much play action. It took my son 2 days to build, spreading out the time to a few hours here and there. My son is 13. It was slight challenging but he also is special needs. I would say anyone over 8+ could do it maybe with some assistance on and off.

K'NEX pieces have great detail and are easy to put together. Most sets you can combine and interchange. For this set, I see it more as the pieces are met for just this set. His favorite parts were the jump disk and launcher and the Goomba figure. Everything worked fine and did what it was suppose to do but he did loose interest. It's not a cheap toy and given the parts may not be the best to use in combination with other sets I feel it's more of a collection item or display unless your a big Mario fan! The play is limited. It's sitting now on his shelf instead as a display piece as he says it looks cool.
A complex K'NEX set ~
This is much more complicated than the Mario Kart 7 set I also received. Though the instructions are straightforward and the pieces generally average size and easily identifiable; the build is challenging. I would rate this set at about 12+ without supervision and 8-12 with adult assistance.

Once assembled though it is quite a blast. The cannon works great. Any young fan of the series will quite enjoy this set. I built it with my neighbor and their kids and it was quite a fun time. The adults had almost as much fun commenting on the complexity.

Bottom line, it's expensive so I would recommend it mainly to fans of the Mario franchise. Otherwise it's a bit of a pricey K'NEX set that can be a little tough for kids to work on their own.

My fourteen-year old son wanted this for Christmas. He has made one thing with it so far. I wasn't too impressed with the motor. It didn't seem very strong. I think my son is happy with it so far. I don't know if I would purchase one again.

Pretty good, and I fixed the range problem for $5
First off, this is a toy. Plain and simple. It's big, it's plastic, and it's very lightweight. It comes with enough track to make a loop around your Christmas tree, and that's it. I've read the reviews here and for the Polar Express, and I'm baffled about some of them. The train has never come uncoupled for me, and I've never had it derail. But I run it on hardwood or linoleum flooring, I don't have carpet in my house. The track is difficult to push together, but once it is together it takes quite a bit of force to have it come back apart. I replaced the batteries immediately, and the train straight out of the box just worked. No problems there. My only problem was range. I could operate it standing nearby, but often the train would lose the throttle signal and slow to a stop. Usually hitting the bell or whistle button would wake it back up, but it would happen often unless I laid the controller on the floor inside the loop of track.

Love it, get it, have batteries on hand!
I ordered this train for my two year old, who lives, eats, and breathes "choo-choo trains" right now. Of course his father and I appreciate that it's the Hogwarts Express. First strong point is the easy to unpack and repack box, designed repeat storage. Secondly, the track snaps together easily and firmly, and can be configured in three different shapes. I made a circle, which is 4+ feet in diameter, and fits perfectly around our tree. I ordered extra track, but will return it because i really don't need it. The train cars are sturdy, hook together easily, and have swivel wheels so they stay on the track. The RC remote works well, and is simple enough for my son to operate on his own; he loves the bell and whistle buttons! The train has a "power up" button, which initiates realistic train sounds. It will power down automatically after 10 minutes. At full speed, this train really moves! The only complaint I have is that, like other reviewers have mentioned, the included batteries...
Perfect First Train
This is my first train set as well as my daughter's first, and I'm not sure who is enjoying it more.This is a perfect set for a child's first train. My three year old loves it. The track is easy to assemble, and the train itself simply requires you to place it on the track and link the cars (super easy to do!). I do recommend an extra track pack. The train is large, so you want to give it some distance in which to travel.

The remote control is easy to use. My daughter can easily understand the forward and backwards motion and gets a kick out of stopping the train and sending it in the reverse direction. The bell and whistle are authentic sounding but not at all loud. The train has an auto shutoff--if you leave the train idling for 10 minutes, it shuts off. I love this because my daughter doesn't want to ever turn it off, but this way, if she quits playing with it, it will shut off on its own.

The one drawback is the battery power. The 6 C batteries it came with...

Although the mega blocks are easy to tip over the product is light and is unlike to hurt your child or furnishings.
This thing is awesome!
Initially, we didn't know if this set would be worth the price; we feared the blocks would be sub-par quality and that the whole thing would fall apart.
Fortunately, we were very wrong.

The blocks are true Mega Bloks-style pieces. And this set is the perfect size for any child under4' tall (even then, you can still sit in it. Cats and dogs could even enjoy it!

Such a good value
I bought this for my 2-year-old for Christmas. This set is such a good value compared to the DUPLO sets you normally find in stores, and I wouldn't have even known about it if I didn't regularly browse the LEGO Education website for work.

My son is very much into cars and rescue vehicles, and had some experience with DUPLO, and I was trying to encourage building with blocks and pretend play. This set comes with five vehicles and eleven figures (plus a cat), and lots of generic bricks and large plates which are good at building other things besides the hospital, fire station, and police station in the photo. One word of caution, there are no building instructions with this kit, but as an experienced LEGO builder, I was able to build all three buildings by looking at the photo with no issues.
