A Model for History Lovers
I just began this Minicraft model and I am very impressed with the quality of the molding. My last ship model required hours of fine work removing molding flash. The Minicraft RMS Titanic Centennial kit parts are almost completely free of molding flash and distortion. This will make the assembly much less time consuming. The clarity of the parts detail is quite surprising given the scale of the model. Parts are well packaged and the instructions are clear and easy to follow.
This is NOT a toy in the true sense of the word, it is a model and requires reasonable modeling abilities (level 3 or above). Very few manufacturers include glue and/or paint in their kits today. Aside from current dangerous goods transportation regulations leakage inside the box can make for a very negative experience, something manufacturers want to avoid. There are several sites on-line where you can get a wealth of information and assistance. Notable is the 'Titanic Research and Model...

Amazing. MUST HAVE!
Very intricate plastic model. From the moment you open the box you can tell that it requires a skilled hand to construct. Very impressive once completed. A plastic model hobbyist's dream. A+++++++
Most accurate model
While true, this model can be a painful experience, [...] gives you all the hints and tips. One I would pay attention to is doing the rigging last and with fishing line. It's not an easy model to do, but when done, is quite beautiful and makes a nice piece on the mantle.
