Lego's New Deluxe Starter for 2010!
Just so you know, I'm a parent who loved Lego when I was a kid, and then rediscovered it with my kids. We generally like Lego trains and I have not had reason to speak ill of them. But this really IS a special set.

This is Lego's deluxe starter set. The train is nicely crafted and the set has a ton of playability. The engine is a European-style, yellow and gray, electric freight engine. The rolling stock includes a flat car, tank car and container car. The set also has a red full-length container, a yellow half-length container, two small automobiles (that load onto the flat car), green container gantry, a semi with container trailer, and four mini-figures. It includes 8 pieces of straight track, 16 curved, two switches, and 16 pieces of flex track. It also has all the necessary Power Function (PF) accessories (motor, infrared control, and battery box). The battery box is a new part; it holds six AAA batteries and sits inside the engine. If you don't like changing out...

  • Includes 4 minifigures: 1 train driver and 3 freight yard workers
  • Cargo train features an engine, tank wagon, flatbed container wagon and auto carrier wagon with 2 small cars
  • Big crane fits over tracks and container truck and features a working winch
  • Set features Power Functions battery box, infrared receiver, motor and 8-channel, 7-speed, infrared remote control that controls up to 8 different trains simultaneously
  • Track are not compatible with LEGO 9V trains

Lego Train
This is a great train. I purchased it for Christmas for my 7 and 10 year old and they love it. They have played with it non-stop since we gave it to them. It is much better than I throught it would be. Very fast and durable. I look forward to adding onto the train set and buying some more sets.
PERFECT GIFT
We bought this for our 5 year old for christmas. He loves it! WE built it the few nights before christmas and laid out the tracks so we wouldn't be engulfed with it christmas morning. He has been playing with it for 7 hours! He has disassembled it and figured out the remote control perfectly. he has rebuilt it in different ways and may be too little too have the patience to build it exactly the same as the instructions. He is able to follow them exactly but It would take a long time. I would definitely get him more of these. Also his toy story engine pieces fit on this track too!
