Best Price LEGO Star Wars 9497 Republic Striker-class Starfighter

LEGO Star Wars 9497 Republic Striker-class Starfighter

Best Item From LEGO

Great addition to the Star Wars LEGO hangar
I really enjoy this set. While it doesn't belong to the original Star Wars movies, it does feel like it would come out of Episodes 4,5 or 6. It's not as sleek and curvy as a lot of the Star Wars starfighters appear today. Instead, it looks boxy and retro with a nostalgic appeal. It looks like it could be a precursor to the X-Wing or A-Wing.

As this ship is from the Old Republic video game, the minifigures are probably not very familiar. (If you go on YouTube you can see the minifigures on the Old Republic trailer). The minifigures have great detail to them. The Republic Trooper has a great outfit (no matching helmet like his comrades in the trailer, though). Satele Shan also has a great outfit on along with a double-bladed lightsaber. The droid is different from your standard R2-D2 mold but there's nothing really unappealing about it.

This ship itself is amazing! The ship is well-designed despite the lack of many unique or rare pieces. I love the dark red pieces...

  • Features 4 flick missiles, attack and cruise mode wing configurations, opening cockpit and lightsaber storage at rear
  • Includes double-bladed Lightsaber and heavy blaster
  • Repel the forces of the Sith Empire
  • Republic Striker-class Starfighter measures over 2" (6cm) high, 13" (34cm) wide and 11" (29cm) long
  • Battle the 9500 Sith Fury-class Interceptor

FINALLY old republic legos!!
I am finally glad to see lego making Star Wars kits that AREN'T from the 1-6 saga.

This set was pretty cool, we see brand new characters never seen before in Lego Star wars.

The big auto-cannon held by the trooper is cool (The barrel is a black lightsaber hilt, cool for making your own custom lightsaber)

T-7 is an awesome droid in the Old Republic game, i love that i have a figure of him now. (NOTE. T7 isnt like R2 D2, you build him out of miscellaneous pieces, he isnt like most mini figures)

Satele is also a very refreshing character. The first official Lego JEDI to use a double bladed lihtsaber (to my knowledge)

the ship is brand new and very cool. It's like a cross between an X wing and an A wing.

Folded up it looks like an A wing speeder, and when the wings extend it resembles an X wing fighter.

The parts holding the cannons on sometimes fall off, but its not TOO fragile.

also there are NO...
A good Lego Starship...just good, not great.
First off, I'm a longtime Lego fan, especially the various space themes, and while this set is nice and has some great perks, the ship design is slightly lacking, seems more like a speeder than a starfighter.

The design of the ship is ok, and I like the printed pieces. The folding wings are passable, but when I sit it next to the fury class infiltrator and Saesee Tiin's startfighter, this ship just is not pretty. the empty space between the engines doesn't look right and when the wings are folded in, it loos VERY flat.

I'm happy with the ship, got it on sale for $35, but I think they could have done a better job. When I compare it to the design of the Galaxy Squad sets that are being released this year, this set seems to lack something. Its not sleek and seems like something you'd put together in Watto's yard.

its a good set with great minifigs, but its not a great starship. I really think they could have made this far better.
